Does Your CRM Work With ChatGPT or Claude? 3 Built Their Own
In nine days last month, three real estate platforms shipped a way for ChatGPT and Claude to work inside them. Lofty announced its MCP Server on October 5, Real Geeks published AI Connect for its websites on October 6, and Inside Real Estate launched BoldTrail MCP on October 13. Rechat got there first, in August. Zillow added its home search tools to Claude on October 20. If you're shopping for a CRM this winter, "does it work with my AI assistant?" is now a fair demo question, and the answers are less tidy than the press releases. Some of these connectors run your database. One edits your website and never touches a lead. Follow Up Boss, the CRM many teams already pay for, doesn't have one of its own; the connector agents use today comes from a third party and costs $55 a seat. Here's who has what, what it costs, and the four assumptions that will trip you up on a demo.
Which Real Estate CRMs Connect to ChatGPT and Claude?
As of November 8, 2026, three platforms have shipped their own connector for AI assistants: BoldTrail (October 13), Lofty (October 5) and Rechat (August 3). Real Geeks connects ChatGPT and Claude to its IDX websites. Follow Up Boss users connect through Follow Up Ace, a paid third-party add-on. We found no announcement from Sierra Interactive or CINC.
All of these run on the Model Context Protocol, or MCP, an open standard that lets an AI assistant call tools inside another piece of software instead of guessing from whatever you paste into the chat. The vendor builds the server, you add it as a connector in ChatGPT or Claude, and then you can type "who on my list hasn't heard from me in three weeks?" and get an answer from your own records. The table lines up what each vendor has published. Pay attention to the last column, because it's where most of the evaluation work is still undone.

Myth 1: "ChatGPT Can Already See My CRM"
It can't, and that's the whole reason these launches matter. Without a connector, an assistant only knows what you type or upload. Ask it to find your stale leads and it will hand you a generic checklist, because it has no idea who's in your database. A connector changes the question from "how should I follow up?" to "show me the follow-ups I missed." The BoldTrail launch coverage on RISMedia gives the canonical example: you ask "What's on my plate today?" and get a prioritized plan built from your current BoldTrail activity. Lofty's announcement describes the same idea from the brokerage side, with examples like finding leads that showed strong buying intent in the last 30 days and haven't been contacted in a week. Lofty CEO Joe Chen summed up the pitch: "AI is only as valuable as the business context it can access." If your CRM isn't on the list above, your assistant is still working blind.
Myth 2: "Every Big CRM Has an Official Connector Now"
Three do, and two of the biggest names in team CRM don't. Follow Up Boss hasn't announced its own MCP server in any coverage or documentation we found. What FUB teams use instead is Follow Up Ace, a separate company whose support portal documents a connector for Claude (web, desktop and mobile) and ChatGPT on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans. It reaches deep: texts through your FUB number, tasks, deals, Action Plans, Smart Lists and lead routing. Its pricing page calls it a 193-tool connector. That's useful, but it's a dependency on a vendor that isn't your CRM, so check what happens to the connector if either company changes its API terms. Sierra Interactive and CINC had no MCP announcement we could find as of November 8. If AI access is on your must-have list, that gap should show up on your scorecard next to the price, and you can weigh it in our real estate CRM comparison.
Myth 3: "The AI Connection Comes Free With My CRM"
Only one vendor says so in writing. Real Geeks states that AI Connect "is included with the base Real Geeks platform," which its pricing page lists at $399 a month plus a $500 setup fee for two users. Even there, Real Geeks warns that your AI provider "may require a specific plan or subscription" and that those charges are separate. BoldTrail, Lofty and Rechat haven't published a price or the plan tiers that get access; Rechat's agent version still runs through a waitlist at rechat.com/mcp. Follow Up Boss teams have the clearest number, and it adds up. Follow Up Ace's base Ace plan is $25 a seat and explicitly excludes the connector. Ace Pro, which includes it, is $55 a seat. Put a 10-agent team on Ace Pro and that's $550 a month, or $6,600 a year, on top of the CRM itself. A five-agent team pays $275 a month. Mixed seating helps: Follow Up Ace lets admins assign Free, Ace and Ace Pro seats separately.
Budget the assistant side, too. A connector is only half the bill; the other half is the ChatGPT or Claude plan each agent needs to use it. For a full picture of what the CRM costs before any AI is attached, see our 8 CRMs priced per closed deal and the BoldTrail pricing guide.
Myth 4: "Connecting an AI Hands It the Keys to My Database"
The connectors launched so far are more fenced in than that, but the fences differ, and some of them let the assistant send messages. Rechat's server uses OAuth and is limited to the individual agent's own account, so the assistant sees only what that agent can already see or edit. CTO Emil Sedgh put it plainly: "Every tool on the MCP Server is scoped to a real workflow and secured with OAuth." Follow Up Ace scopes its connector to each user's own Follow Up Boss permissions. Real Geeks has the owner choose which parts of the site the AI can touch, logs AI changes in the site's history, and lets you revoke access any time. Lofty says connected agents act "where authorized." The risk sits elsewhere. BoldTrail MCP can draft and send texts and emails, and the Follow Up Ace connector texts from your FUB number. A message an assistant sends is still your message under the texting rules, which is why our 10DLC guide and Real Estate News' October piece, "When AI makes a mistake, it's the agent who pays the price," are worth reading before you switch on sending.
Five Questions for Your Next CRM Demo
Vendors are moving fast enough that last quarter's comparison chart is already stale, so get these answers in writing:
- Is the AI connector built by you or a partner? A first-party server lives and dies with the CRM. A third-party one adds a second vendor and a second bill.
- Which plans include it, and what does it cost per seat? BoldTrail, Lofty and Rechat haven't published this. Make them say it.
- Which assistants are supported? Real Geeks names ChatGPT and Claude, plus Claude Code and Codex for bigger website jobs. Ask whether your team's plan on that assistant qualifies.
- Can it send, or only read and draft? And can an admin turn sending off for the whole team?
- Is access scoped to each agent's own permissions? Rechat and Follow Up Ace say yes. Get the same answer from yours.

Questions Agents Ask About CRM AI Connectors
What is an MCP server in a real estate CRM?
It's a connector built on the Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude read and act on data inside your CRM. You add it as a connector in the assistant, then ask questions about your own leads in plain language.
Does Follow Up Boss work with ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes, through Follow Up Ace, a third-party add-on. Its Ace Pro plan, at $55 per seat per month, includes a connector for Claude and for ChatGPT on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans. We found no Follow Up Boss–built MCP server.
Does BoldTrail work with ChatGPT?
Yes. Inside Real Estate launched BoldTrail MCP on October 13, 2026, naming ChatGPT and Claude. It can build a daily plan, summarize contact history, log notes, set follow-ups and send texts or emails. Pricing and plan access weren't published.
Is Real Geeks AI Connect the same thing as a CRM connector?
No. Real Geeks AI Connect lets ChatGPT or Claude edit your Real Geeks website, including pages, blog posts, navigation and design. It doesn't give the assistant access to your leads. It's included with the $399-a-month base platform.
Do Sierra Interactive or CINC have an AI assistant connector?
Neither had announced an MCP server or ChatGPT and Claude connector in any coverage or vendor material we found as of November 8, 2026. Ask about it directly on a demo if it matters to your team.
An AI assistant can only work the leads you already have, and a connected CRM makes thin seller pipelines obvious fast. RobinFlow's home-valuation funnels bring in homeowner leads you can route into BoldTrail, Lofty, Follow Up Boss or any other CRM. Start your RobinFlow seller funnel.
