The Real Cost of Lofty AOS AI: Free Chat, $60 to $199 Agent
Lofty is rebuilding its CRM around AI, and the new version, Lofty AOS (Agent Operating System), is already reaching accounts. Lofty's help center calls it "the next generation of the Lofty platform," with an AI workspace called Cowork as the home screen and a set of AI Copilots doing jobs across the product. The marketing message is that AI is everywhere now. The billing message is more specific, and it's in Lofty's own documentation: talking to the AI is free, and asking it to do work costs credits. Its Sales Agent, the AI that follows up with your leads, is sold separately at $60 to $199 a month, with a lead quota that fills up instead of resetting. If you're evaluating Lofty this quarter, or you're a Lofty user watching AOS land in your account, here's what's free, what's metered, and how the Sales Agent bill grows as you feed it leads.
What Does Lofty AOS Cost on Top of Your Lofty Plan?
Lofty AOS isn't sold as a separate product. It's rolling out to existing accounts, and your leads and settings carry over. The extra cost sits in two places: Cowork AI credits for anything the AI executes, and a Sales Agent package at $60, $150 or $199 a month, plus 30 cents per added lead slot.
The base subscription is still a sales call. Lofty's pricing page lists four platform plans, Lofty Agent, Lofty Team, Lofty Broker and Lofty Enterprise, and every one of them says "Request Pricing." The page does print a few add-on terms. Seller lead generation requires a 20% ad management fee, branding ads carry a 15% management fee, and buying seller leads without an IDX site means paying $70 a month for a home evaluation page. Our earlier breakdown of Lofty CRM pricing covers what agents report paying for the platform itself. This review stays on the AI layer, because that's where AOS changes the bill and where Lofty publishes the most detail.
The Quick Verdict on Lofty AOS
AOS makes Lofty's AI easier to use and harder to budget. The free side is generous: Lofty says Chat "doesn't use AI credits" and has no usage limit, so lead lookups, calendar checks, drafted texts and how-to questions cost nothing. The paid side is where the actual work happens. Every Cowork request uses credits, "and bigger jobs use more." Database cleanups scale with the number of leads processed, and every custom agent run is metered. Lofty shows you the meter in a Billing Center, including the token-to-credit ratio, but its help article on credits doesn't print a dollar price per credit, so you can't model the cost from the outside. The Sales Agent is the opposite: clearly priced, but built on capacity that accumulates. For a solo agent who mostly uses Chat and a Pro Sales Agent, AOS is cheap. For a team that wants Cowork running reports and agents on a schedule, get the credit price in writing first.
Who Lofty AOS Is For
Current Lofty customers get AOS whether they shop for it or not. Lofty says it's "being released in stages," that "there is no fixed timeline," and that your leads, history and settings carry over, so you aren't starting from scratch. The redesign fits agents who live in one screen. Cowork opens with a morning briefing built from your CRM, your production numbers, and a prompt box you can type into in plain language. Communication moves into a unified inbox across channels. If you run a lean solo business and want an assistant you can ask "who visited my website in the last 30 days," the free Chat mode covers that. Teams that want automated, repeatable work, such as weekly cold-lead nudges or a Q3 performance report, are the ones who'll hit the metered side. And if you're comparing Lofty against a CRM that bundles AI at a flat price, our look at how 4 CRMs price AI lead follow-up lines the models up.
Chat vs Cowork: What's Free and What Burns Credits
Lofty frames the split as one question: "do I want an answer, or do I want the work done?" Chat answers. Cowork plans the steps, runs them, and returns a finished result, and that's the version that draws credits. The table summarizes Lofty's own examples.
| Request | Free Chat | Uses credits |
|---|---|---|
| "Who are my hottest leads right now?" | Yes | |
| "What's on my calendar today?" | Yes | |
| "Summarize Jordan's last text" | Yes | |
| "Run a performance report for Q3" | Yes | |
| "Review all my leads for data hygiene" | Yes, scales with lead count | |
| "Run my weekly cold-lead nudge agent" | Yes, every run | |
| "Create a pitch deck for this listing" | Yes |
The credit list is longer than the examples. Lofty names nine dedicated Cowork tools that draw credits: Compose Messages, Prep Meeting, Plan My Day, Performance Report, Create Skills, Create PPT, Process PDF, Deal Spreadsheet and Generate Doc. Building, editing or deleting a Smart Plan through Cowork also uses credits, and so does every custom agent run, "on schedule, on a trigger, or on demand." Lofty's credits article is candid about the scaling risk: asking Cowork to clean up a database with "tens of thousands of leads" is "a substantial amount of tokens." Two guardrails help. Cowork "never sends a message or changes a record on its own"; each action appears as a confirmation card first. And since the October 19 release, you can pre-approve some actions for a session, though "sending email or text always needs a fresh approval for each message." When you run low, the Billing Center's Buy extra credits button routes you to the Lofty Marketplace to add more.
Sales Agent Pricing: Capacity You Keep Paying For
The Sales Agent is Lofty's AI follow-up rep, described in its Copilots guide as "a virtual ISA that works 24/7 to convert leads into appointments." It's priced in four packages, and the structure matters more than the sticker. Lofty says the lead quota "works like storage space, not a monthly allowance: it doesn't reset each month, and every lead you enroll uses part of your capacity." When it fills, the Sales Agent keeps working the leads it has and stops enrolling new ones until you buy more.
| Package | Lead quota | Monthly price | Notable features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Freemium | 10 leads | Free | Same features as Pro |
| Pro | 200 leads | $60 | No added quota; upgrade instead |
| Max | 500 leads | $150 + $0.30 per added lead | Custom Skills, Knowledge Base |
| Team | 600 leads | $199 + $0.30 per added lead | Everything in Max, one shared agent; owners only |
Divide price by quota and every package lands near the same rate: Pro is $60 for 200 leads and Max is $150 for 500, both 30 cents per lead slot per month, and Team is $199 for 600, about 33 cents. Added quota is also 30 cents, sold in blocks of 100 for $30 a month. So you're renting slots, not buying results. The modeling question is how fast you fill them. Take a Max subscriber enrolling 100 new leads a month and buying enough quota to keep enrolling. Lofty's package article doesn't describe releasing a slot once a lead is enrolled, so this model treats capacity as cumulative.
| Month | Leads enrolled | Added quota | Max bill that month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 5 | 100 to 500 | 0 | $150 |
| 6 | 600 | 100 | $180 |
| 7 | 700 | 200 | $210 |
| 8 | 800 | 300 | $240 |
| 9 | 900 | 400 | $270 |
| 10 | 1,000 | 500 | $300 |
| 11 | 1,100 | 600 | $330 |
| 12 | 1,200 | 700 | $360 |
| Year 1 total | $2,640 |
The year adds up to $2,640, and month 12 costs $360, which is 2.4 times month 1. The Team package follows the same curve one step later. Its 600-lead base carries you through month 6 at $199, then the bill climbs to $379 by month 12, for $3,018 across the year. Pro behaves differently because it can't take added quota: at 100 new leads a month it fills in month 2 and stops enrolling, so the price stays at $60 while new leads wait for a human. None of this makes the Sales Agent a bad buy. It makes it a utility with a meter. The rule of thumb is simple: if your lead flow is steady, your Sales Agent bill isn't. Ask on the demo whether removing a lead from the Sales Agent frees its slot, because the answer changes every number in this table.
What Shipped in AOS Since October
Lofty's AOS release notes show a product moving quickly, with several changes aimed at texting and bulk work. The October 19 update capped broadcasts at 1,000 recipients, added a fix so "failed texts are no longer reported as sent," let Cowork turn on the Sales Agent for many leads at once, and connected Notion and Slack through Lofty's integrations. The November 2 update made Cowork write texts in standard characters only, "so special characters no longer split one message into several," and has Cowork report how many texts you have left for the day during a broadcast. Exports above 1,000 leads now run in the background. Lofty also documents a way to connect your own MCP server to Cowork, and its pricing page lists custom AI agents, scheduled AI tasks and CLI access among its AI tools. If you text through AOS, the carrier rules still apply: Lofty's 10DLC guide says AI Assistant texts need a registered campaign, and a sole proprietor needs a separate brand for the AI Assistant number. We cover that cost in our 10DLC switching guide.
Lofty's bet is that agents will hand repetitive work to AI agents they configure once. That only pays off if the meter stays below the hours it saves, and right now you can only read the meter after you sign. If AI follow-up is the main reason you're looking, compare Lofty's model with the flat-price options in our Lofty AI vs BoldTrail AI comparison, the AI lead response platform test, and the full real estate CRM comparison.
Lofty AOS Questions Agents Ask
Is Lofty AOS a separate subscription?
No. Lofty describes AOS as the next generation of its platform, rolling out to accounts in stages with no fixed timeline. Leads, history and settings carry over from Lofty Classic.
Does Lofty AI chat cost extra?
No. Lofty says Chat doesn't use AI credits and has no usage limit. Cowork, which runs tasks, documents, reports and custom agents, uses credits on every request.
How much is the Lofty Sales Agent?
Freemium is free for 10 leads, Pro is $60 a month for 200, Max is $150 for 500 and Team is $199 for 600. Max and Team add quota at 30 cents per lead.
Does the Sales Agent lead quota reset each month?
No. Lofty compares the quota to storage, not a monthly allowance. Each enrolled lead uses capacity, and when it's full the Sales Agent stops enrolling new leads until you add more.
How much do Cowork credits cost?
Lofty's help article on credits doesn't list a dollar price. Your Billing Center shows usage and the token-to-credit ratio, and extra credits are bought through the Lofty Marketplace.
An AI that follows up is only as good as the leads you feed it, and a metered one makes every weak lead cost you twice. RobinFlow's home-valuation funnels bring in seller leads you can route into Lofty or any other CRM. Start your RobinFlow seller funnel.
