Sierra Interactive vs BoldTrail Pricing: Only One Posts a Price

Sierra Interactive prints its price on a public page, down to the nickel: $299.95 a month for one user on an annual agreement. BoldTrail doesn't publish a single number. Its own pricing article, posted June 5, 2026, says the company "doesn't publish a standard pricing page with fixed monthly tiers." So any Sierra Interactive vs BoldTrail pricing comparison is lopsided by design. You can calculate one side, and you have to request the other. We pulled Sierra's full rate card on October 28, 2026, priced it at 1, 3, 7, 10 and 25 agents, and set it against the only BoldTrail figures that exist in public, which come from third-party buyer guides. Five common beliefs about these two CRMs don't survive the math, and one of them is costing teams of 8 or more agents money every month.

TL;DR: Sierra Interactive starts at $299.95 a month for one user on a 12-month agreement; BoldTrail publishes no price, and buyer guides report about $499 for a solo agent. Sierra's Growth plan undercuts Essential from 8 users up and costs $849.95 a month for 25 agents. Get BoldTrail's quote in writing before you compare.

Is Sierra Interactive Cheaper Than BoldTrail?

For a solo agent, yes, by about $99 to $199 a month. Sierra's Starter plan lists at $299.95 a month, or $399.95 with the $100 dialer that unlocks its mobile app. AgentAdvice reports BoldTrail's solo plan starts at $499 a month. For teams, BoldTrail only quotes, but every public estimate for 25 agents runs above Sierra.

Here's where each number comes from. Sierra's figures are list prices from its public pricing page, which labels every package "starting at" and confirms in its FAQ that both billing options run on a 12-month agreement. BoldTrail's figures are weaker, by necessity. AgentAdvice, in a review updated August 26, 2026, says it called BoldTrail and "found out that their comprehensive plan for solo agents starts at $499/month." The team ranges come from the AI Tools Bakery pricing roundup, updated September 4, 2026, which compiles reported quotes and labels each one an estimate. Treat the BoldTrail column as a starting point for your own quote, not a price. We left out ad spend, taxes and paid lead programs on both sides, because those vary by market and both vendors bill them separately from the platform fee.

Myth: Sierra Is the Premium-Priced Option

Sierra's reputation as the expensive choice comes from its team packages and a long add-on menu. The base rate card says otherwise. A solo agent on Starter pays $299.95 a month, or $3,599.40 a year. Add the $100 dialer, which Sierra's page says you need for the mobile app on Starter, and you're at $399.95 a month, or $4,799.40 a year. BoldTrail at the reported $499 starting price comes to $5,988 a year before any onboarding fee. That's $1,188.60 more than Sierra with the dialer and $2,388.60 more without it. NAR's 2026 REALTORS® Technology Report, published September 22, 2026, found that about half of agents budget $50 to $500 a month for all of their tech. BoldTrail's solo figure alone sits at the very top of that band, before you've paid for a single lead.

Solo agent, one year: Sierra Starter with the dialer is $4,799.40. BoldTrail at its reported starting price is $5,988.

Myth: BoldTrail Costs $499 a Month

$499 is the most-quoted BoldTrail number online, and it's a floor, not a price. BoldTrail's own June 2026 pricing article says cost depends on market and features for individual agents, on team size and modules for teams, and on custom enterprise terms for brokerages. It adds that BackOffice, recruiting tools and marketplace add-ons "are each priced separately," and that BoldTrail "has historically charged an onboarding fee." Reported team quotes run wide: $499 to $999 a month for 5 to 10 users, and $1,499 to $2,500 for 25 or more, per the AI Tools Bakery roundup. The article also lists access route as a price driver, meaning whether you get the platform through a brokerage relationship or buy it directly. That's why a colleague's quote at another brokerage tells you little about yours. If your brokerage already provides BoldTrail, your cost may be zero, and the real question becomes what you'd pay to replace it.

The add-ons are where the floor moves. BackOffice, the commission and back-office module formerly sold as Brokermint, is quote-only too, and the one published range runs from $5 to $60 per seat, a 12x spread we unpacked in our breakdown of BoldTrail BackOffice pricing. A team that needs commission tracking, recruiting and the CRM is buying three quoted products, not one, and each has its own price logic. You can't compare that bundle to Sierra's rate card until every piece has a dollar figure next to it. Ask for each module as its own line item, with its own term, so you can drop one later without reopening the rest of the contract. If the rep won't split the quote, that tells you how hard the bundle will be to unwind at renewal.

Robin Take: A CRM that won't show you a price isn't hiding a bargain. It's keeping the right to charge the next team lead something different.

Myth: A Bigger Sierra Plan Always Costs More

Sierra's per-user pricing flips the plan order once your team grows. Essential includes 3 users and charges $60 for each user from the 4th through the 10th. Growth includes 5 users and charges $20 each for users 6 through 10, then $10 each for users 11 through 49. Run both and they meet at exactly 7 users, where each costs $639.95 a month. At 8 users Growth is $40 cheaper, at $659.95 against $699.95. At 10 users the gap is $120, with Growth at $699.95 and Essential at $819.95. By 25 users, Essential runs $1,194.95 and Growth $849.95, which works out to about $34 per agent. A team lead who stays on Essential to "save" on the base fee at 8 or more agents pays more every month for less, since Growth also carries 15,000 SMS segments against Essential's 1,500.

Myth: Monthly Billing Keeps You Flexible

It doesn't, because Sierra's FAQ says the pricing is a "12-month agreement" under both billing options. Monthly billing only changes how you pay for the year, and it costs more. Starter jumps from $299.95 to $359.95 a month, Essential from $399.95 to $474.95, and Growth from $599.95 to $724.95. Sierra also charges a one-time $500 setup fee when you split the agreement into monthly payments, and waives it when you prepay. Over the first year, that's $1,220 extra on Starter, $1,400 on Essential and $2,000 on Growth, for the same contract length. If cash flow forces you onto monthly billing, ask for the setup fee to be waived anyway. Sierra's page doesn't state cancellation or renewal terms, so get both in writing before you sign either version.

Same contract, higher bill: monthly billing on Sierra Growth costs $2,000 more in year one than prepaying, and you're still committed for 12 months.

Myth: Every Sierra Plan Includes the Mobile App

On Starter, it doesn't. Sierra's pricing page lists the mobile app as "Included with Dialer upgrade," and the dialer is a $100-a-month add-on on Starter, while Essential and Growth include it. That's why a solo agent's real Sierra number is $399.95, not $299.95, if you work leads from your phone. The app itself is well rated: 4.8 stars from 1,741 ratings on Apple's US App Store when we checked on October 28, 2026, though its last update shipped April 29, 2025. BoldTrail's app sits at 1.6 stars from 75 ratings. We compared six CRM apps, including both of these, in our check of real estate CRM apps and their 2026 reviews. If your team works leads from the car between showings, that gap belongs in the decision next to the monthly fee.

What to Ask BoldTrail Before You Sign

BoldTrail's pricing article tells buyers to ask its sales team about contract term, setup or onboarding fees, market-specific pricing and marketplace add-on costs. It's a fair list, so use it, and add the questions that decide your real number. The same article argues that a stitched-together stack of separate IDX, CRM, email automation, landing page and integration tools runs $250 to $750 a month. Hold your quote to that standard. If your all-in BoldTrail number lands above $750 a month, the all-in-one pitch is costing you money by BoldTrail's own math. Our BoldTrail pricing guide covers costs by team size, contract terms and a negotiation playbook, so you'll know where to push. Bring these six questions to the demo:

  1. What's the monthly platform fee for my exact number of users, and is it locked for the full term?
  2. Is there an onboarding or implementation fee, and what is it in dollars?
  3. How long is the contract, and what happens to the price at renewal?
  4. Which modules does this quote include: CRM, IDX website, lead generation, BackOffice, Recruit?
  5. Does my brokerage already pay for my access, and what changes if I leave that brokerage?
  6. Is ad spend billed separately, and is there a monthly minimum?

Which One Should Your Team Pick?

Pick Sierra if you want a number you can model today. Solo agents should budget $399.95 a month with the dialer, teams of 3 to 7 belong on Essential, and teams of 8 or more should go straight to Growth, which costs $849.95 at 25 agents. Pick BoldTrail if your brokerage covers it, or if your written quote for the full module set lands under Sierra's number for your team size and under BoldTrail's own $750 stack benchmark. If neither fits, you're not stuck with these two. Our real estate CRM comparison lines up the other CRMs agents shortlist, with published prices where they exist. Whatever you choose, don't sign a 12-month agreement on a price you couldn't recreate from a page or a written quote, because that's the number you'll be paying when the renewal comes.

The CRM is only half of the cost per deal. A $699.95-a-month platform needs seller leads flowing into it to earn its fee back, and that's the part neither Sierra nor BoldTrail prices into the base plan. RobinFlow builds home-valuation funnels and seller-lead campaigns for agents and teams, so the CRM you just priced has listings-side leads to work. Start your RobinFlow onboarding and see what a seller-lead funnel would look like in your market.
