Zillow Pro Is Free for Preferred Agents Through 2026. Then What?

When Zillow announced Zillow Pro in October 2025, it made Preferred partners a specific promise: "Every Zillow Preferred partner agent will receive access to Zillow Pro at no additional cost through 2026." That window closes in two months. Zillow reports third-quarter earnings on November 4, and the product launched nationwide in July, yet Zillow still doesn't publish a price for it. If you're a Preferred agent, or a team lead whose Follow Up Boss account now runs through Zillow Pro, January's renewal is a contract you'll be asked to sign without a sticker. We read every primary document we could find on Zillow Pro's pricing and terms to work out what that contract actually commits you to, and which numbers to get in writing before you agree to anything.

TL;DR: Zillow Pro has no public price; quotes come from sales, per seat. Default terms are a 12-month initial term, 30 days' cancellation notice and an early termination fee equal to every unbilled month. Every seat on the account must be a Zillow Pro seat. Get the 2027 quote in writing before January.

What Happens to Zillow Pro Pricing After 2026?

Nobody outside Zillow knows yet. Zillow promised Preferred partners Zillow Pro at no additional cost through 2026 and hasn't published what they'll pay after that. The paid membership is quote-only and priced per seat, with a 12-month default term and an early termination fee, so the terms in your order matter more than any list price.

That's the uncomfortable part of the timing. Zillow's July 9, 2026 launch release opened Zillow Pro "for any and all real estate agents, nationwide" and said nearly 20,000 agents had already used it in beta. It said nothing about price and nothing about what happens to the Preferred benefit after 2026. The Close's review of the launch and its terms confirms that "Zillow does not publish a standard nationwide price on its public product page," and that agents are sent to sales, where pricing is set in each order by tier and seat count. So the free period for Preferred agents ends on a known date, and the price on the other side of it is a negotiation you haven't started.

What We Checked, and How

On October 31, 2026, we pulled six primary or first-hand sources and read them side by side. From Zillow: the October 15, 2025 announcement that set the Preferred benefit, the July 2026 launch release, the second-quarter 2026 earnings release filed with the SEC, and the October 6 notice of the November 4 results date. From Follow Up Boss, which Zillow owns: the current FUB pricing page and its Zillow Pro page. For contract terms, The Close's July 13 review is the most detailed public summary we found. We didn't buy a seat or get a sales quote, so nothing below is a negotiated price. What you get instead is every term that's actually on the record, plus the math on the ones that cost money.

Finding 1: Zillow Pro Has No Public Price, and FUB Does

Follow Up Boss publishes its plans to the dollar. Zillow Pro, built on top of it, doesn't. FUB's Zillow Pro page says "any agent can create a free Zillow Pro account to access basic tools," and that a paid membership adds Smart Lists, Smart Summaries, Smart Messages and a branded Zillow profile. Then every pricing path points to "Contact sales." That leaves the FUB plan you already pay for as the only hard number you can anchor a negotiation to.

Follow Up Boss plan (Oct. 31, 2026)Billed monthlyBilled annuallyYearly cost (monthly / annual billing)
Grow, 1 user$69/user$58/user$828 / $696
Grow + calling, 1 user$108/user ($69 + $39)$91/user ($58 + $33)$1,296 / $1,092
Pro, 10 users included$499 (extra users $49)$416 (extra users $41)$5,988 / $4,992
Platform, 30 users included$1,000 (extra users $20)$833 (extra users $17)$12,000 / $9,996

Pro and Platform include unlimited calling and texting for all users, per the pricing page. Ask Zillow sales for a number in the same shape as this table: per seat, monthly versus annual, with calling either included or itemized. If the Zillow Pro quote is a single bundled figure, ask what the FUB portion would cost on its own. Without that split, you can't tell whether you're paying for Zillow's consumer data or just paying more for the CRM you already had. Our breakdown of Follow Up Boss's three tiers covers which features sit behind each plan.

Finding 2: The Contract Terms Cost More Than the Sticker

The Close lists the default terms, and they're the part of this decision most likely to cost you money. Each one is reasonable on its own. Stacked together on a quote-only product, they turn a "let's try it" decision into a 12-month commitment with an exit fee.

TermWhat The Close reportsWhat it means for you
Initial term12 months by default unless the order says otherwiseAsk for a shorter first term in writing
BillingMonthly; month to month after the initial termYear two is flexible, year one isn't
Cancellation noticeAt least 30 days before the next billing dateLate notice can mean another monthly charge
Early termination feeMonthly charge × unbilled months remainingLeaving early costs the rest of the year
Tier upgrade"Moving into a higher tier starts a new initial term"An upgrade resets your 12-month clock
Seats"All agent seats on the account must be Zillow Pro seats"No mixing Zillow Pro and FUB-only seats

Here's what the termination fee looks like in dollars. Zillow hasn't published a price, so use today's FUB Pro plan as a stand-in: $499 a month. Sign a 12-month order, cancel after month 4, and the fee is 8 unbilled months × $499, or $3,992. The upgrade clause is quieter but just as real. Upgrade to a higher tier in month 9 of a 12-month term and a new 12-month term starts, so a commitment that would have ended in month 12 now runs to month 21. That's nine extra months you agreed to by clicking upgrade. None of these terms are unusual for business software. They're just easy to miss when the product was free for a year and the renewal shows up as a single line in an email.

Robin Take: A quote-only product with a 12-month term and an exit fee isn't a bad deal by default. It's a deal you can only judge with the full order in front of you. Ask for the total price, seat minimum, renewal terms and every optional charge in writing, then decide.

The Surprise: One Preferred Agent Can Reprice a Whole Team

The term most team leads will trip over is the seat rule. The Close says plainly that "mixed Zillow Pro and Follow Up Boss-only configurations are not allowed." Picture a 10-agent team on FUB Pro, paying $499 a month. Three agents are in Zillow Preferred and want to keep Zillow Pro after the free period ends. The other seven only use FUB for their sphere and don't care about Zillow's browsing data. Under the seat rule, keeping Zillow Pro for those three means all ten seats become Zillow Pro seats at whatever per-seat price sales quotes. The alternative is dropping it for everyone. There's no option where the three keep Zillow Pro and the seven stay on plain FUB at $499. This is also where leaving gets harder than it looks. The Close reports that Zillow Pro "is becoming the primary route for consideration for Zillow Preferred," while Preferred "remains invitation-only" and buying Zillow Pro doesn't guarantee admission. If your Preferred agents produce a big share of your closings, the decision isn't really about software.

The seat rule turns three agents' Preferred benefit into a pricing decision for the whole team.

What to Listen For on November 4

Zillow releases third-quarter 2026 results after the market closes on Wednesday, November 4, with a call at 2 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. ET. The last report sets the context. In its second-quarter release, Zillow said residential revenue rose 7% to $465 million from $434 million, "benefiting from growth in Preferred, Zillow Showcase, New Construction and the company's suite of agent software tools." Agent software is now named as a revenue driver, which tells you Zillow expects to be paid for it. On the call, listen for three things. First, any mention of Zillow Pro paid adoption or seat counts, which signals how hard sales will push in January. Second, any change to Preferred benefits for 2027. Third, residential revenue growth against that 7%. If Zillow says software is carrying more of the growth, expect firmer pricing, not discounts. Verdict: Who Should Sign, Who Should Wait

  • Preferred agents who close a large share of business through Preferred: renew, but negotiate. Get the 2027 per-seat price, the initial term and the termination clause in writing before the free period ends, and ask for a term shorter than 12 months.
  • Teams where only a few agents use Zillow Pro: run the seat math first. Price all seats as Zillow Pro seats and compare it with your current FUB bill from the table above. If the difference is larger than what those agents' Zillow-sourced deals earn, move them to the free Zillow Pro account and keep the team on FUB.
  • Agents who never used My Agent or Likely to List: drop to the free account. FUB's page says any agent can keep a free Zillow Pro account for basic tools, so declining the paid tier doesn't mean leaving Zillow Pro entirely.
  • Anyone considering a mid-term upgrade: wait for your renewal date. An upgrade starts a new 12-month term.

Whatever you decide, notice where the leverage sits. Zillow Pro makes your existing database more useful by showing what your contacts browse on Zillow once they accept your invite. It doesn't produce new sellers who don't already know you, and the price of that visibility is now a negotiation with the same company that sells you leads. That's why it's worth building a seller pipeline Zillow doesn't sit in the middle of. RobinFlow builds home-valuation funnels and seller-lead campaigns for agents and teams.
